(Also known as Emergency First Aid certificate)
This Health & Safety Executive recommended one day non-assessed course is the minimum level of First Aid training for the workplace allowed by Law. It is only appropriate for low risk environments or for those people acting in the absence of a fully qualified First Aider.
Due to time constraints, the topics in this course are covered to a lesser degree than in a 3 day course.
The course costs £65 per person and is delivered across one day.
On successful completion of the course and final assessment by the trainer, the candidate will received the “HSE Appointed Person First Aid certificate” which is valid for 3 years.
However, as demonstrated by the course content, a large amount of information is taught in a very short space of time to candidates and this can easily be forgotten unless routinely practised in the workplace. The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety therefore recommends that candidates on this course refresh their skills annually.
