Bogus callers may resort to dressing up from everything from an electricity company meter reader to a plain clothes Police Officer checking your home security. If in doubt, check them out.

Ask for identfication, check to see if they have a marked van or car with them, and if you are still in doubt, call their boss to make doubly sure that they are who they say they are. Ask their boss to describe the person named on the ID and check their appearance matches the description you’re being given.

Many bogus callers use stolen ID cards to gain access to your home.
